As soon as I completed the Emile Reed Chronicles, I immediately went to work trying to plot out the story for the Shaden duet, which begins with AS WE FALL. I love science-fiction and I was eager to dive back into it with a brand new story, that was where Raven came in. She's a mixture of Emile, Taylen, and Arabella. She's witty, tough, naive at times, but most importantly, she's real. She's a character that I feel people will be able to relate to, even if the world she's living in is nothing like our own. Okay, enough rambling. Onto the cover!
And here's a rough (and by no means final) description:
No one really remembers when they arrived. It feels as though they have always been here; hidden right beneath our noses. Our ignorance had just made them invisible to our eyes.Until they forced us to see them.Their ships have hung in the sky for as long as I can remember, a constant reminder that this world was not our own. A lesson that they’d made it a point to show us every single night. When the lights go out, be sure to seek shelter.
Like most of my covers, this one was created by the lovely Christa of Paper & Sage Design. This cover is easily my favorite of all my covers because of how wonderfully it captures the story. I'd been struggling for a while trying to determine what kind of cover I wanted for this story. Thankfully, Christa is all sorts of awesome and I'm absolutely thrilled with the cover.
I don't know when AS WE FALL will be released, but I'm aiming for sometime before May of 2015. I know that is rather broad, but I don't want to commit to a release date this early. I have a ton of projects I'm currently juggling, so it could take some time. What I can promise is that there will be a teaser (the entire first chapter) for AS WE FALL published in the back of an upcoming project, so you'll be able to learn more about Raven soon enough!
