I do apologize for that. Things have been rough. As many as you are aware, in 2023, I lost my job and lost my older brother - two events I'm still struggling to overcome. I'm still out of work, despite applying to hundreds of jobs, and writing is officially my only source of income. (My husband is working, but we're barely getting by.) Because of this, I've made a BIG decision. All of my independently published books are moving to Kindle Unlimited.

Books that will not be moving to Kindle Unlimited:

Thanks for the Venom (InkSpell Publishing)

My Soul to Save (InkSpell Publishing - Magic & Mischief anthology)

Collide (InkSpell Publishing)

Time After Time (Evernight Teen)

Along with that news, I figured I'd share a quick update regarding the books I'm currently working on.

A Killer Obsession - Standalone YA Thriller inspired by Criminal Minds

Among the Stars - Standalone NA Fantasy; in memory of my brother

Grow Up & Blow Away - Standalone NA Contemporary Romance

I've put everything else on hold for the moment. This is so I can focus solely on these books. Once I complete A Killer Obsession, I will move The Crimson onto my WIP list. But I'm trying not to overwhelm myself too much.

And lastly, The Outbreak Duology: The Complete Series is finally available in paperback. You can purchase it now for $24.99. The paperback includes Spark and Strength, two short stories you can only read in the complete collection.

<3 Nicole

NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-41324589152051059302023-09-22T03:16:00.001-04:002023-09-22T03:16:11.626-04:00TO HELL, WITH LOVE is Finally Available!
After what feels like forever, TO HELL, WITH LOVE is now available.

The eBook is currently exclusive to Amazon as it is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, however, the paperback should be available through all distribution channels. I initially had no intention of self-publishing this one, but then everything seemed to go wrong in my personal life... so, I'm going to release a few books on my own.

This means that in October, you'll finally be able to read THE CURSE - my New Adult vampire novella. And then in November, I'm hoping to publish WRAPPED IN RED, a Christmas novella. There will not be a book published in December because I'll be getting married. After that? Well, we'll see.

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-41775854359533591862023-08-05T17:45:00.002-04:002023-08-05T17:45:41.184-04:00TIME AFTER TIME is Out.
Hey everyone. I'm going to make this short and sweet.

TIME AFTER TIME was released on July 14th from Evernight Teen. I had extensive promotions planned for the release. Book tours. Social media influencers. Book boxes. But then my world came crashing down just two days later. On July 16th, I lost my big brother - my first best friend and one of the most important people in my life.

Since then, I haven't been able to promote TIME AFTER TIME. I even stopped writing. If you could spread the word for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. As of now, the book has 0 reviews and it's not even on Goodreads, so it's not exactly finding readers.

I'm hoping to be able to check in periodically, but grieving takes time and I'm an utter mess right now.

NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-35838912368450715922023-07-05T10:00:00.001-04:002023-07-05T10:00:00.170-04:00Cover Reveal for THE CURSE, Plus an Update!
My little vampire novella series, This Body a Tomb, will officially launch later this month. I initially planned on releasing the first book in June, however, due to some health issues and simply not being able to get the book to where it needed to be, I pushed it out a month. The first book, The Curse, is around 30,000 words. It's fun, it's action-packed and it's spicy. This is not a book meant for my usual young adult audience. I wanted to try to push myself with my writing, and well, this three-book novella series is allowing me to do just that.

Here's the official cover for The Curse.

The book is coming out later this month and you can officially pre-order it on Amazon. There will be a paperback edition, but it'll be released a few weeks later.

I never intended for this book to come out before To Hell, With Love, especially as that book has been done forever. But that book was still out with beta readers up until recently, and I needed a distraction while I wanted to work on edits. I'm hoping to have an official update for To Hell, With Love very soon. It's coming, though, I promise!
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-401563312707711792023-07-04T23:20:00.005-04:002023-07-04T23:20:46.650-04:00Cover Reveal for TIME AFTER TIME, Coming Soon!
I'm incredibly excited to share the cover for Time After Time. This is a Young Adult standalone title that will be releasing soon from Evernight Teen. This is one of the books I wrote during the pandemic. I initially set out to self-publish it, but ultimately wanted to find the right home for the book, and with Evernight Teen I've done just that. We've completed the edits, and my editor was amazing. I'm hoping to have a release date -- and pre-order link -- that I can share soon. For now, enjoy the beautiful cover.

Here is the official synopsis:

<div class="x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a" style="animation-name: none !important; background-color: white; color: #050505; font-family: "Segoe UI Historic", "Segoe UI", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin: 0.5em 0px 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; transition-property: none !important; white-space-collapse: preserve;">
Seventeen-year-old Maya Reed wants nothing more than to live a normal life, but when you’re an anomaly that shouldn’t exist? I've been wanting to work with Evernight Teen for some time now. In fact, I've submitted multiple books to them but things just didn't work out. (Understandably!) So, I'm thrilled to be partnering with them on this book. Once I know more details, you'll know them! For now, just know it has a publisher behind it.

Now, onto Deadly Little Secret: I've finally changed the name. It's now titled To Hell, With Love... and it's out on submission. I love, love, love this book. Like Time After Time, this New Adult romance is a standalone title. It is not connected to any of my other titles. It's snarky, angsty and full of romance. (There are even a couple of spicy scenes that border on Adult.) I don't know when I'll have news - if any - on this one. But fingers crossed it finds a home because I would love Lila and Jay's story to reach as many readers as possible.

With those two done, what am I working on now?

Just One Night: A 10k word LGBTQ+ New Adult novella that is being written for an anthology. If it gets picked, I'm hoping to share more about it soon. If not, I'll save it and maybe develop it more down the line. (I'm 5K words in, so it's almost done.)

Grow Up & Blow Away: My standalone New Adult contemporary romance. This one is coming later this year and I'm self-publishing it. That's only because this one is pretty close to my heart. I've been working on this story for over seven years now. The version that I'm working on at the moment is an entirely new draft and it's probably my favorite WIP to date. It's steamy, but fun. I like Monica and Dillon and I think you guys will, too. (There will be a new cover coming later this year.)

Untitled Kiss Novella: I'm writing an Adult story for a contest on the Kiss app. It'll be around 10k words and it's like nothing I've written before. More details at a later date.

As We Fall: Another LGBTQ+ title I'm excited to share. This is a Young Adult book - the first of a duology - and it'll be released later this year.

Survival Instinct: I'm also re-writing Survival Instinct. I'm self-publishing this one in December. It's a full-length zombie story with romance. It's the book I've been wanting to release for years. I love Raven and I can't wait for you guys to read the new take on this story. It's much cleaner, and a hell of a lot stronger.

Now, onto to some more goodies: Collide: Book One, Collide: Book Three, and Collide: Book Four are now available as audiobooks. There's a production issue on Collide: Book Two, so I'm hoping that is fixed soon so we can get it out. The audiobook for Stouthearted is finally available, too. I'm hoping to have even more audiobooks coming in the next few months.
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-16785113851894665842023-02-01T11:06:00.002-05:002023-02-01T11:06:10.690-05:00Welcome to February!
Happy February, folks!

2023 is proving to be a busy year already. I'm just getting over pneumonia, so apologies for the lack of updating. I do have some news, though. Some that I can share, and some that I must wait to share.

Here's what I can share: Production on the entire COLLIDE series is done and the audiobooks are coming. While EPISODE FOUR is out now, the remaining three installments are pending approval from ACX. Once approved, they'll be available for purchase. I'm super happy with how these came out. (You can score free codes for EPISODE FOUR by heading to my Author Facebook page.)

We're nearing the finish line on DEADLY LITTLE SECRET. I'm both scared and excited to finish this one. I love these characters and this world, but it's time to finish this bad boy. I do have a publisher I intend to send it to upon completion. So, fingers crossed all goes well! This is a New Adult title that sometimes edges on the Adult bracket. It is a standalone title and will be over 60k words. So, it's a full-length novel.

There is some other news I'm eager to share... but I must wait. Just know, it's good news!

Now, how about a reading update? I recently finished reading SOME DESPERATE GLORY - check out my review here - and it's a good one. If you haven't already, add it to your TBR list.
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-67900028268876503322023-01-16T20:52:00.002-05:002023-01-16T20:52:33.929-05:00Updates on DEADLY LITTLE SECRET, Audiobooks, and more!
We're halfway through the month already and a lottttt is going on. I've passed the halfway mark on DEADLY LITTLE SECRET. It's almost done and I'm excited. I'm in the midst of an action-packed chapter right now, and knowing how the story will eventually end? I'm loving seeing how these characters develop - I don't outline, as I've found they just don't work for me, but I always have an idea of how the story ends. This book is much spicier than anything I've written to date. You can read an UNEDITED version of the first seventeen chapters on Wattpad now.

Audiobooks: All three novels in the EMILE REED CHRONICLES are now available in audiobook. I'm working on getting the digital shorts in audiobook, too, but I've hit a hiccup with NEW BEGINNINGS. I'm waiting to hear what's going on from ACX. Fingers crossed that is taken care of soon. The audiobooks for the COLLIDE novellas, THANKS FOR THE VENOM, and STOUTHEARTED are also in production. They should be coming very, very soon.

I still have no news on TIME AFTER TIME. I'm hoping that changes soon, but that's just how publishing works, unfortunately. It's a lot of waiting. I'm still hopeful it finds a home. For the time being, here's a snippet of the book. (I loveeeeee this book.)

Along with finishing up DEADLY LITTLE SECRET, I'm hard at work on AS WE FALL. This book, guys. I adore these characters. It's an LGBTQ+ romance featuring aliens. (If you loved the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, you'll love this one.) I've had a blast writing this book. As you're all aware, I'm sure, I initially planned to release this book a long time ago. But the drafts were always... lacking. I just couldn't release them into the world because I simply didn't love them. I'm happy to say that has finally changed with this draft of the story.

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-72675341324517571772023-01-01T22:19:00.001-05:002023-01-01T22:19:11.848-05:00Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!

Last year, THANKS FOR THE VENOM was finally released through InkSpell Publishing. This is a book I started years ago, and I'd never really been sure if it would find a home... but it did! It's currently available in both eBook and paperback wherever books are sold, and at some point this year, it'll be available in audiobook. I'm excited to continue to share Harley's story with everyone. (Book reviewers: If you'd like to review the title, THANKS FOR THE VENOM is now on NetGalley.)

I also finished writing TIME AFTER TIME last year. The book is out on submission. I'm hoping to have news by February. If it doesn't get picked up, I'll put it up for pre-order later on.

So, what's coming this year?

Right now, I'm finishing up DEADLY LITTLE SECRET. I adore this book. It's been nice writing New Adult lately, so expect more New Adult titles from me. This book feels like a mix of WICKED by Jennifer L. Armentrout and BORN RECKLESS by Keary Taylor. It's fun, flirty and full of action. It's a paranormal romance and I'm expecting to have this draft finished by the end of January. (I'm around 30K words into it right now, so that is possible.)

I'm also working on AS WE FALL. This alien book has been in the works for yearsssssss. I never released it because was never happy with it. I've re-written this book more than any other. I'm on draft eight, I believe, and I'm finally happy with how it's coming along. This one will be out later this year.

And the third, and final book, that I'm working on right now is GROW UP & BLOW AWAY. This is a New Adult contemporary romance, and guys, it's really, really good. Monica is one of my favorite leads. She's not the usual sarcastic lead you'll find in my books, but she's awesome. I can't wait for you all to experience her love story with Dillion.

I have other books in progress - REBIRTH, LEAVE ME HAUNTED, and CHRISTMAS NOVELLA #2 - but those will not be touched until February.

I should note: DEADLY LITTLE SECRET is going out on submission in late February. As of right now, I have no intention to self-publish it. If it doesn't sell, then yes, I'll self-publish it... but I'm holding out hope that this book will find a home.

One final update: COLLIDE is finally, finally, finally available in a collected paperback. You can purchase it now for $12.99 through Amazon. It's being titled COLLIDE: THE ANTHOLOGY. As far as I know, the eBooks will not be made into a single volume. The individual episodes are still available as eBooks. Audiobooks are coming soon, too.

I'm hoping to be more active on here this year.

If you're not already, make sure to follow me on social media:

@NicoleSobon895 on TikTok

@Paintthisred on Instagram

@NicoleSobon on Twitter
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-81897568786512823022022-12-06T12:56:00.001-05:002022-12-06T12:56:13.571-05:00Looking Ahead to 2023: New Releases and More!
As the year comes to a close, let's take a quick look ahead to 2023.

I have a bunch of books set to come out next year, all of which are now available to pre-order through Amazon:

As We Fall (The Shaden Duet, Book One) -- Oct. 17th, 2023

Grow Up & Blow Away -- Nov. 1st, 2023

Untitled Christmas Novella -- Nov. 13th, 2023

Rebirth: An Emile Reed Chronicles Prequel Novel -- Dec. 5th, 2023

These are all confirmed to go out next year. There will be no cancellations. These are definitely happening. I also have a few titles that are done but are out on submission at the moment (TIME AFTER TIME being the main one). I'll (hopefully) have news on that one after the New Year.

I have other books I want to release next year, but I'm only committing to these four. This way I don't overwork myself and make promises I can't keep.

Also, I'll be back on Dreame soon. CAPTURE will potentially be exclusive to Dreame. While I did revise it, I don't feel comfortable re-publishing it, so I've opted to go in a new direction.

<3 Nicole Sobon
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-19322968893760481962022-11-15T10:46:00.002-05:002022-11-15T10:46:52.734-05:00'TIME AFTER TIME' is Complete!
After what feels like forever, TIME AFTER TIME is complete.

This is a book that I never intended to write. In fact, I was browsing my cover designer's website looking to revamp the covers for SUBMERGED and STOUTHEARTED... when I landed on the below cover. I instantly fell in love with it. I can't say why, I really don't know. All I knew was that I needed to purchase the cover and write a book centered around it. So, I did just that. TIME AFTER TIME was born that day, and it was officially completed last week.

Funnily enough, I ended up going back and adding another 2k words to it after I initially finished it. I've since put it aside to force myself to avoid adding to it. (I'll continue to add onto it otherwise, and sometimes, those additions are not always good!)

It is currently on submission and I'm hoping it finds a home. If it doesn't, I'll self-publish it early next year. That's only if I can't find a home for the book. Either way, you guys are getting a lot of content from me next year. Two confirmed releases on my end, and depending on where TIME AFTER TIME lands, it could be a 2023 release. ;)

I'm also working on DEADLY LITTLE SECRET - my New Adult paranormal romance. I love, love, love this story, and it'll be going on submission around February/March of next year. Lila and Jay, guys, they're my favorite couple I've written to date.

Outside of that, I'm drafting AS WE FALL and working on an untitled Christmas novella that I snuck in for preorder yesterday. I'm excited to say that GROW UP AND BLOW AWAY and AS WE FALL are both available for pre-order. Both are set for release in late 2023. GROW UP AND BLOW AWAY is a standalone New Adult contemporary romance, while AS WE FALL is the first in a duology.

Next up is the new edition of CAPTURE: I unpublished CAPTURE across all platforms a while ago. I even deleted it from Wattpad. Why? I hated the edition that was out there. My writing has improved drastically since I first began writing books in 2010. So, I rewrote it. I still love this story and want it to find readers... but I also knew it needed a lot of work. I'm not sure what will happen to it, or if it'll be republished anytime soon, but I am changing the title. The current working title is AUTUMN RISING, but I doubt that'll stick.

More updates? Yep! There's plenty more.

TIME AFTER TIME: Guys, it's done. I finished the story I feared I would never finish. I've even submitted it to a publisher. (An indie one that I feel would be a good fit for it.) It'll be a bit before I have news on it, but I'll have news... at some point!

DEADLY LITTLE SECRET: My favorite project I'm currently working on. It's a New Adult Paranormal Romance and I adore Lila and Jay so, so, so much. The goal is to submit it to publishers in January/February. I have no intention of self-publishing this one.

AS WE FALL: This is my NaNo project this year. I'm thrilled with this new draft. If you've been following the blog for the past few years, this book has gone through various drafts. I hated all of them. All. Of. Them. This new one, though, is great. Aliens. Romance. Action. A duology. It's fun and I'm excited to finally share it next year. (Again, pre-orders are now live on Amazon!)

There will be another Christmas story next year, too. I don't have a title yet, and I don't have a cover, but expect pre-orders for that project to hit late next month. Like ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS, it'll be New Adult and will be very romance-centric.

If there's something you'd like to see from me, let me know! I want to hear what you guys think!

And don't forget, you can check out THANKS FOR THE VENOM now!
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-73842680531361972702022-08-16T23:30:00.001-04:002022-08-16T23:30:14.863-04:00'THANKS FOR THE VENOM' is Now Available!
About a week late but... It feels like forever ago since I submitted the story to InkSpell, when in actuality, it has only been about a year or so. This book is something I never thought I would finish. It sat in a folder on my computer for years as a story titled Hunted. All I knew was that it was about a vampire slayer and hybrids. Everything else? I had no clue what to do with the story.

Then, while I was frustrated working on another book, I returned to Hunted to finish Harley's story.

As someone who loved - and still loves - Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I had a blast writing this book. I'm thrilled with the name change we selected. I like the cover that our cover designer came up with. More importantly, though, I'm grateful to Melissa and InkSpell for giving Harley and Drake a chance to have their story be told.

As it stands, Thanks for the Venom will only be available in eBook -- unless we magically sell enough copies to get a paperback edition. At some point, I will work on getting an audiobook made, as I do retain the audiobook rights, but it'll be some time yet.

For now, check out the cover and be sure to get your pre-orders in wherever eBooks are sold!

<span class="a-text-bold a-text-italic" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #0f1111; font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: italic !important; font-weight: 700 !important;">

<span class="a-text-bold a-text-italic" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #0f1111; font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: italic !important; font-weight: 700 !important;">Harley Sanders has always known one certainty in life: Vampires suck.<span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #0f1111; font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">

As a student at the League, Harley is expected to protect the innocent from the undead, even if her methods might be considered reckless.

While out on a hunt, Harley finds herself face-to-face with the enemy, and in the midst of fighting, ends up becoming the one thing she’s been trained to kill.

A fact only made worse by the newest student of the League who has taken a keen interest in her out of the blue.

Vampire bite? I'm actually here to share some news for once. I'm excited to announce THANKS FOR THE VENOM will finally be out in August. Pre-order links will be live in July. This one is coming out through InkSpell Publishing. As of now, it is eBook only, however, if sales are good enough, a paperback edition is feasible!

I'm currently hard at work on TIME AFTER TIME. Honestly, this book has been a hard one for me to write because it took a hard left turn from my outline. But! I'm happy with how it is going and I've even uploaded multiple, unedited chapters on Wattpad. I should note, though, that this book will see some drastic edits once it is complete, so expect it to change. The plan is to submit it by August, however, as it is a weird little book, I'm not sure it'll find a home -- we'll see. If the publishers I intend to submit to reject it, this is one I can release ASAP.

After that? I want to focus on DEADLY LITTLE SECRET and LEAVE ME HAUNTED. I have other ideas I want to work on, but I need to finish those stories first, so that's my current line-up of what is in the works. (Note: Both of these titles will be going on submission to publishers; if they don't find homes, I will self-publish them in 2023.)

And now for some random mumblings...

I'd love to have a new Christmas novella ready for this year, but I just don't have the time.

I am still working on getting all of my books in hardcover. I'm trying to make the hardcover covers myself, which is why it is taking so long. It's all brand new to me. With the hardcover editions, I also want to format the interior. The goal is to have those out by December. Fingers crossed.

BOOK BLOGGERS: If you'd like a digital ARC copy of THANKS FOR THE VENOM, I currently have them through Book Sprout. I'm also planning an official cover reveal for July 8th, so feel free to reach out if you'd like to participate.

Here's an unedited snippet from TIME AFTER TIME:

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">I
thought back to the accident and the way the car behind me continued to close
the gap between us. I had clearly been their target. I just hadn’t known why.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Bits and pieces continued to pour in,
but none of the puzzle pieces ever truly aligned. It was as though a signal had
been lost; the memories were there, they were just hidden beneath a cloud of
static, eager to be uncovered.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">I need to get out of here, I thought.

breath. I needed to calm down. My heart was racing with fear, and I knew what
would soon come would be yet another ending to my story. At least temporarily.
They always brought me back in due time. “Who do you mean by we?”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">“Why all the questions?” Marie
teased. “You’ve never been this talkative before.”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">I tried to recall the past times;
hoping to recover any bits of information Marie had given me in earlier
sessions, but nothing came to mind. It was almost as though they’d completely
wiped by mind. But despite all of their best efforts, they could never delete him
from my story.

There is good news, though. THANKS FOR THE VENOM is in the final edits stage and I'm thrilled with how it is coming along. Even better? It has a cover that I can't wait to share!

I don't know when it'll be released, but it is coming this year courtesy of InkSpell Publishing.

And that is not all...

TIME AFTER TIME is coming!

I'm going to be submitting it to a few small publishers later this year. Either way, it's coming. I just don't know when exactly.

I'm hoping to have even more book news soon, for now? I'm excited to finally be back!

<3 Nicole Sobon
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-29584903595822616462021-08-29T01:00:00.001-04:002021-08-29T01:00:43.942-04:00Some Updates + Release Date for BRAVE NEW WORLD.
So, back in June, I kind of fell off the grid.

My birthday happened, then father's day, and then I ended up in the hospital. Thankfully, it was not with COVID, but it was with another infectious disease that resulted in an 8-9 day stay between two hospitals. (Long story.) As you'll all know, I intended to publish BRAVE NEW WORLD in July. Unfortunately, I was in no state to write or edit. In fact, when I was released the first week of July, I ended up taking another week just to recover.

And then life decided to throw me another curveball or two.

I'm in a better place now. I'm writing daily. I'm editing daily. I'm even updating Wattpad.

This means, I do have some good news.

BRAVE NEW WORLD is coming on October 4th, 2021. Pre-orders will be up soon. I'm going to upload everything on Wednesday through Draft2Digital. It'll only run $0.99, like with the other stories, and will be around 13-15k words.

Here's the best part, though! The four novellas will be collected into a paperback before the end of the year. I will also do an omnibus, which will go up a week after BRAVE NEW WORLD is released.

The reason for this? I do plan on doing four more novellas set within this world in 2022-2023.

This first batch is The Guardians, while the second run will be The League of Strays. The title of the first novella will be revealed in October. Again, it won't be out until next year this time. (I have a lot I'm writing!)

I don't know what book I'll release next. I'm planning on submitting a few directly to publishers, while others I intend on self-publishing. So, we'll see what happens. Just know, I am writing. You'll have new stuff from me soon.

For now? Check out ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS. It's a cute New Adult romance. :)

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-82424650896640256222021-06-15T00:20:00.006-04:002021-06-15T00:30:08.601-04:00Teaser Tuesday: First Chapter of BRAVE NEW WORLD (Unedited!)
It has been a bit since I've updated this blog.

To make up for my absence, here is the first chapter of BRAVE NEW WORLD. wanted to give you some clean clothes and a tablet.”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">I glanced down at the clothes in her hand and my eyes
nearly bulged as I took in the royal blue leather ensemble. It wasn’t that it
was unappealing. I quite liked it, honestly, but I failed to see how it would
be useful in battle. Even though I used magic to fight, there were still the
occasional instances in which I did enjoy hand-to-hand combat. There was just
something refreshing about being able to take down a lowlife with my body.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">It was even more powerful than magic.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">And it was just more visually appealing.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">“It’s a lot more flexible than you’d imagine,” she
assured me.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">“Why do I get the feeling you’re used to persuading
others to embrace leather uniforms?” I stifled a laugh as I took the clothes
from her hand. I couldn’t deny the blue was a flattering shade, at least. And
honestly? I was in dire need of something clean to slip into.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">“Because I seem to be the only one here with a sense
of fashion,” she teased.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">While it was safe to say I hadn’t really gotten a
chance to know the others all too well just yet, there was no denying there was
something mysterious about Arabella. From what I could gather, she was
reckless, and at times, quite arrogant. But I was sure there was more to her
than she liked to showcase.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">After all, why would she willingly take in a group of misfits?
It was bad enough we all had targets on our back on our own. Bringing us
together to fight as a single unit? It was asking for danger, but she didn’t
seem to mind.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">“A warning about Ellie,” Arabella said. “If you see
her practicing with her sword? I would make a point to keep a distance.
Sometimes she gets lost inside of her memories, and it becomes hard to decipher
what’s real and what isn’t.”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">“Noted, thanks.” I tucked the clothes under my arm and
watched as Arabella took off back toward the building. Part of me wanted to
follow in hopes of familiarizing myself with my new home away from home.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">However, I couldn’t force myself to leave having
finally found a moment of silence.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">The downside to being a Super was having to constantly
run and hide. It wasn’t that I hadn’t understood why the general public was
terrified of us. We were essentially living weapons just waiting for a moment
to go off – the kid had proven as much. So yeah, they had every right to fear
us.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">Still, with the bad, there was always good, and it was
almost always overlooked.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">I went out of my way to try and save people, to live
up to the idea of a superhero, in my early days on the run. Only to realize it
was useless. There were plenty of bad apples among us, so much so my actions
had been for naught. Every bit of good I did? They would undo with a single
action.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">So, I stopped. I stopped caring. I stopped trying to
be what everyone else what me to be. However, most importantly, I stopped
giving a damn about the world around me. I’d closed myself off. There was no
reason to suffer for a world that didn’t want you around, I’d convinced myself.
Until I saw Arabella and the others.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">I did my research, of course. I knew who her father
was; he’d tried to use her abilities for his own gain. And for a while? It had
worked. Same with Ellie. For years, she’d served blindly as part of The Shadow
Program, until she seemingly managed to free herself of their control. An
impressive feat given what I’d learned about the latter institution.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">It was rare for an assassin to escape alive, but she
had.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">She wasn’t a Super, but like us, she longed to belong
somewhere. Perhaps it was why, despite the inability for the others to truly
function as a team, I found myself eager to join them. Beneath the chaos and
egos, there was a promise of what could be and the idea excited me.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">Even if it meant I had to don a tight leather ensemble
during battle.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">I took one last look over the edge of the building,
smiling as I saw my fellow Supers taking to the streets, no longer fearful of
what awaited them beyond the shadows. “This is how it should have always been,”
I thought.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">Now I just needed to ensure it remained this way.

BRAVE NEW WORLD does not have a publication date. It's almost finished, however, I don't feel comfortable committing to a date at the moment. As it is the conclusion to this series, I'm trying to ensure I tie up loose ends.

One thing I can promise? It will be my next release, and yes, it is coming before the end of the year.
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-30487816236180889282021-04-12T00:03:00.004-04:002022-11-15T10:47:42.138-05:00HUNTED News: Title Change & More!
I'm incredibly happy to announce InkSpell has picked up HUNTED for publication.

I officially signed the contract on Friday. I still had the book out on submission at a couple other publishers, however, after working with InkSpell on the COLLIDE series and my short story in MAGIC & MISCHIEF, I felt InkSpell was a good fit for this title.

There are a few changes, though. The book will now be titled THANKS FOR THE VENOM. And while I do intend for it to be a standalone, I am not against writing sequels in the future should I come up with the right story to tell. The book is currently set for publication in August 2022.

I adore this book so much. Harley is such a fun character, and I love her dynamic with Drake. I've been toying with some potential sequels or prequels, which is why I'm not ruling out future installments. If something becomes of these ideas, I'll be sure to announce it here. For the time being, though, this is a standalone title and I'm excited to share it with all of you... next year.

Onto other news!

I'm currently working on TIME AFTER TIME now. I intended to self-publish this last month. However, the book was not where it needed to be; it's still not quite there, but I'm happy with how it is coming along. I'm still debating on whether or not I want to self-publish it or submit it to some publishers. This, like THANKS FOR THE VENOM, will be a standalone.

Above is an unedited snippet from the book.

This is a Young Adult romance story. It has some dark moments, but there are plenty of sweet moments thrown in, too. If you enjoyed the Emile Reed Chronicles, I think you'll enjoy this story.

As I'm finishing this book up, I'm also working on BRAVE NEW WORLD. I want to ensure I wrap up all the stories for our four heroes. Technically, it could be done as is, but I don't feel as though it is a completion to the series. These girls deserve to have a proper sendoff. When it's ready, I will do a new pre-order through Draft2Digital, which will allow it to be pre-ordered through all eBook retailers!

As to other releases for the year... I intend on finishing DEADLY LITTLE SECRET on Radish, as well as HAUNTED. When these are complete, there will be an exclusivity window to Radish and then I'll be free to self-publish them everywhere. So, keep an eye out!

Other than those titles, AS WE FALL is my only other planned release this year. You'll get that book in October.

I do have ideas for new books, of course, but I don't want to announce anything until it has been completed going forward. For now, back to writing I go!

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-67170350025080278632021-02-21T15:54:00.002-05:002021-02-21T15:54:36.522-05:00HUNTED is Complete!Well, it's official. HUNTED is complete. My standalone Young Adult vampire book is done, and I'm honestly kind of excited. I'm in the process of trying to find it a home right now. I'm hopeful I will have news to share in a couple of weeks.

I know I disappeared again. This was mainly due to needing time for me. As many of you know, I do have some health issues: fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis being the main two culprits. When I experience bad flare-ups, it makes it hard to do much of anything. This includes writing, unfortunately. So, yes. I did disappear, but I'm back. I'm feeling a little better now, thanks to my doctor, so I'm focusing on getting my release schedule back on track.

Since HUNTED is finished, I'm back to working on BRAVE NEW WORLD. That novella is nearly complete, I just need time to edit and make sure the timelines match before I give a new publishing date. I'm also going to return to working on TIME AFTER TIME, as well as my two Radish stories: HAUNTED and DEADLY LITTLE SECRET.

I also have plans to write a brand new story specifically for a publisher I've been interested in submitting to for some time now: NineStar Press. This one will be a novella, so around 20k words. I plan on knocking it out relatively soon.

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-90981665090816642792020-12-07T00:55:00.001-05:002020-12-07T00:55:16.383-05:00Weekly Update: HUNTED, Audiobooks, and More!
2020 has been a strange year. We can all agree on this, of course. However, it has led to me finding my drive to write again - something I've been struggling with for a bit now. I've had a ton of half-started projects on my laptop that seemed to die after I hit the mid-way point.

This year, though, I've birthed new life into old books. I've also locked down a publishing schedule for 2021. Sticking to a schedule has been hard for me in recent years. I deal with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, on top of PCOS, anemia, and terrible anxiety/depression. On their own? Each is bearable. When they all decide to hit at once, though? I'm useless. I'll spend my entire day in bed. Which is why I'm thrilled I've gotten so much done this year.

I released MY SOUL TO SAVE in the summer as part of InkSpell Publishing's MAGIC & MISCHIEF anthology. I released the third installment of the Guardians novella series, SERAPHINA. I wrote and released an unplanned Christmas novella: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS.

Now, I'm putting the finishing touches on HUNTED. A standalone Young Adult vampire title I started earlier this year. It was an unplanned project. I hit 9K and ended up putting it on pause to work on other projects. It's finally almost done now, though, and I will begin submitting it to publishers in about two weeks. Here's a fun (unedited) sneak-peek.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">“Normally I wouldn’t say this, but
could you perhaps cover up?” Esme seemed on edge when she spoke. Her eyes were
darker than usual. A tell-tale sign it was time for her to feed, and soon.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">“I don’t know, I
quite enjoy the view,” Felix teased.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">“Of course, you
do, you pig.” Esme rolled her eyes. “You’re playing with fire, Harley.”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">“What’s wrong with
a little danger?” It was like dangling a forbidden fruit in front of them. On
one hand, I was pretty sure my blood wouldn’t have quenched their thirst. After
all, it had been tainted by the venom. Still, blood was blood. “Besides these
are merely my lounge clothes.”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">“Lounging around a
bunch of hungry vampires while looking like that isn’t the smartest idea.”
Drake came strolling from the back of the house in nothing but a pair of black
jeans. My mouth nearly dropped when I saw the way he was built underneath it
all. How had he managed to hide that from me? And holy crap. “Trust me.”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">

I'm hoping to have some publishing news for HUNTED in January. So, keep your eyes peeled!

Audiobooks!

Guys, there are a lot of audiobooks coming from me. ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS is coming very, very soon. I submitted the final audiobook for review a week or two ago. The narrator did such a fantastic job. Audiobooks for COLLIDE: BOOK ONE, CAPTURE, REBOOTED, and ARABELLA are also in production now, too.

Speaking of Capture...

I intended on unpublishing CAPTURE. The book hadn't connected with readers like I had hoped, but I decided to simply make it Amazon exclusive. So yes, you can still grab it as an eBook and in paperback -- eBook will be out in 2021. Even better? It's now available as part of Kindle Unlimited.

It's a romance-heavy story with action tossed in. It's a weird story, yes, but I love Autumn and Ian too much to discard them. Plus, I still really want to write the sequel.

Radish Books!

Want some New Adult titles from me? Head to Radish. I have LEAVE ME HAUNTED and DEADLY LITTLE SECRET which I'm writing for the app. I'll be focusing on them full-time next week. This means chapters will be added more frequently. There is a certain amount of time these must be exclusive to Radish. Once that window is up, the books will be available on Amazon (they will be Amazon exclusive). If you want to read them now? Radish is the best way.

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-71113551968956028692020-11-23T08:00:00.001-05:002020-11-23T08:00:04.792-05:00New Release: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS is Now Available.
It has been a bit since I've had a new release. And honestly? Releasing a new title in 2020 is... interesting. Still, I'm excited to say ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS is now available. This short read (around 14K words) is a cute New Adult, second-chance romance.

Meet Jana and Greg!

I'm doing a very, very, very limited paperback run as it doesn't hit the 100+ page mark in print. If you want a paperback copy, you can snag one through Amazon for the next two weeks. If you prefer audiobooks? I'm happy to say ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS will be hitting Audible very soon. I just approved the files today - it's perfect! - I'm just waiting on Audible to approve the audiobook now.

I'm off to finish work on HUNTED and BRAVE NEW WORLD.

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-83393303163773845742020-11-14T23:41:00.002-05:002020-11-14T23:41:32.887-05:00DEADLY LITTLE SECRET is Moving to Radish!I've made the decision to pull DEADLY LITTLE SECRET from Dreame. It's now on Radish Fiction. Overall, I did not have a pleasant experience with Dreame. (I was offered an exclusive contract for it, but ultimately passed.) I am loving Radish, though! So you can find both DEADLY LITTLE SECRET and LEAVE ME HAUNTED on there now.

If you haven't met Lila and Jay yet, I would suggest you do so. The story goes live on Radish on November 21st and will release on chapter at a time. (Yes, there's romance. It's a fun one, too!)

I decided not to finish NaNoWriMo. It was a decision I didn't make lightly. Ultimately, I just don't have it in me. (I don't know if I've touched on this in the past: I have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis.) I wish I did - trust me. I've learned in recent years, however, it's not good to push myself if I can't physically do it. The writing is getting done. It's just at my own pace... which is probably better. My NaNo drafts are always terrible. (Here's looking at you, CAPTURE.)

I'm going to knock out HUNTED this month and then focus on TIME AFTER TIME and BRAVE NEW WORLD. (Yes, I'll be updating my Radish exclusives, too. Those are only a chapter at a time, though, so it's not bad.)

I'll be submitting HUNTED to Entangled Publishing (for the Teen Crave line), Evernight Teen, Clean Teen Publishing, and InkSpell once it has been completed and edited. I'm hopeful it'll find a home. If it doesn't, you'll get it early on in 2021 from me. Either way, you're getting Harley and Drake... at some point!

I've finally gotten around to trying to knock out more audiobook titles. This includes COLLIDE, the rest of the EMILE REED series, and ARABELLA. No promises, as I need to go through auditions and find the best narrators for each project... but I'm working on it.

I know I haven't been making any updates on books I'm reading lately. I am reading, though, and I'm still purchasing more books than I probably have a right to given my TBR pile. I'll try to get back into the habit of doing Stacking My Shelves posts.

Don't forget: ALL I WANT FOR CHIRSTMAS is out on the 23rd! (You can actually snag a paperback copy now; the paperback will only be live until a week before Christmas! It's a limited-run.)

<3 Nicole Sobon
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-10675597181414630792020-11-06T02:36:00.003-05:002020-11-06T02:36:55.255-05:00New Story: LEAVE ME HAUNTED on Radish!
Do you use Radish? Well then, you're in luck!

I have a new story I'm publishing exclusively on Radish titled LEAVE ME HAUNTED.

It has ghosts and romance... and it's New Adult.

This was a project I intended to write after I finished HUNTED.

Obviously, that didn't happen. I'm working on four different titles at the moment. This one is probably the craziest. It's also the heaviest on the romance... but there are ghosts!

Something you probably don't know about me? I watch all of those paranormal investigation shows. All. Of. Them. So, I've been wanting to write something inspired by them for some time. HAUNTED is the story I didn't know I needed to write. It's just fun, and boy, I needed something fun to write.

Like DEADLY LITTLE SECRET (on Dreame!) and HUNTED, this is a standalone story. However, because it's on Radish and I'm publishing a chapter every week, I don't know how long it'll be just yet. The first chapter goes live on November 7th and the second chapter goes live on November 14th. So, every Saturday, you'll receive a new chapter of Emma and Zack goodness.

You can also read PROGRAM 13 and SUBMERGED in full on Radish now, too.

My goal is to publish a second Radish exclusive story in early 2021, as my current projects will be completed by December. However, no promises just yet. If I do, would you prefer more Young Adult or New Adult titles?

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6327024213479471667.post-17108852420744637512020-11-02T10:54:00.002-05:002020-11-02T10:54:27.956-05:00New Story: DEADLY LITTLE SECRET!
Hey everyone!

So, if you read yesterday's post, you'll know I started writing a few more projects. One of them is LEAVE ME HAUNTED, which will be available on Radish in a couple of weeks. However, there is one you can read right now. It's a completely new story titled DEADLY LITTLE SECRET. I'm not sure how long it'll be - I'm keeping it ongoing. But! It's a fun New Adult title with action, suspense, and plenty of romance.

Lila and Jay are probably one of my favorite couples - right up there with Taylen and Glate from the Outbreak duology. I hope you guys enjoy getting to know them!

You can read this new story exclusively on Dreame: https://www.dreame.com/novel/UaOnYZaoXTEOtZJKCGU7Sg%3D%3D.html

If you enjoy the story, please feel free to share it with others.

<3 Nicole
NicoleSometimeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07149887599360206913noreply@blogger.com0
